At ERNI, we collaborate with leading automotive partners to ensure the quality and reliability of embedded systems in high-performance vehicles. We’re currently looking for a Test Engineer to support the software validation phase of a top automative customer.
In this role, you will work directly with the vehicle systems, helping validate software updates through structured test cases, diagnostic analysis, and on-site testing. This includes configuring tools, interacting with the car’s embedded components, and sometimes being present in the vehicle during test sessions with a professional driver.

What will you bring? 🤝
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hardware/software testing for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and protocols (UDS, XCP).
- Experience with Vector Tools and CANoe.
- Knowledge in flashing and configuring embedded ECUs.
- Background in electronics or electrical engineering is an advantage.
- Comfortable working hands-on with vehicles.
- Good level of English (B2–C1) for daily communication with international teams.
You will be responsible for:
- Diagnostics Development: Create and maintain diagnostic files for different car series following UDS (ISO-14229) and XCP protocols.
- Tool Setup: Configure flashing and diagnostic tools (e.g., Softing Monaco, Java) and set up dataloggers (Vector VN, CANoe).
- Test Execution Flash and configure ECUs with the test software versions.Execute test cases based on defined test plans.
- Monitor system behavior during test drives and analyze logs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate test documentation and version control of hardware/software configurations.

Working model: On-site with hands-on collaboration 💼
For this project, you’ll be based full-time at the customer’s offices in Tarragona. Being on-site allows for close collaboration with engineering teams and direct interaction with the vehicles and tools involved in testing.
