At ERNI, we're looking for an experienced Test Engineer to be part of an international engineering team, to plan and execute manual and automated tests, support EMC testing campaigns, perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and successful delivery of reliable medical devices.

With people. Besides your team and manager, you will have several support figures like a godparent, who will help you with the practical and administrative aspects of daily life during your first 6 months.
And the second most important person after you, your mentor, who will guide you through your entire onboarding and career at ERNI. You will have regular 1:1 meetings with them, and recurrently, you will work on your development plan to define your short-, medium-, and long-term goals.

What you will bring 🤝
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Medical Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
Proven experience in embedded systems testing, including verification and validation activities.
Experience with EMC testing, compliance, or troubleshooting, including laboratory-based testing.
Hands-on experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, preamplifiers and electronic measurement tools.
Experience with electronic hardware debugging, including soldering, PCB rework, and implementing hardware modifications on prototype and development boards.
Professional proficiency in English with strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of Medical Device EMC Standards: IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 60601-1, CISPR 11 and IEC 61000-4 Series.
Nice to have:
Experience in medical device development or other highly regulated industries (MDR, IVDR, FDA, or similar environments).
Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries (automotive, aerospace, railway, industrial safety).
Knowledge of medical device standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and IEC 62304.
Experience with EMC compliance testing in accredited laboratories.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Robot Framework) and ALM tools (e.g., Polarion, Jira, Azure DevOps).
ISTQB, IEEE or iNARTE for EMC Engineer, or similar professional certification.
You will be responsible for
Plan, coordinate, and execute system, integration, and software verification and validation tests for embedded medical devices.
Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, specifications, and test cases based on requirements and risk assessments.
Perform manual and automated testing while ensuring regulatory compliance and full traceability.
Prepare and support EMC pre-compliance and compliance testing in internal and accredited external laboratories.
Analyze test results, investigate defects, and perform root-cause analysis for software, hardware, and EMC issues.
Integrate software releases, verify hardware/software modifications, and support system integration activities.
Utilize laboratory equipment to troubleshoot and validate embedded systems and electronic components.
Hands-on experience with electronic hardware debugging, including soldering, PCB rework, and implementing hardware modifications on prototype and development boards.
Document test results, defects, and technical findings, producing high-quality reports for audits and regulatory purposes.
Collaborate with hardware, software, quality, regulatory, and external testing teams to resolve technical issues.
Contribute to test automation, continuous improvement of testing processes, and optimization of verification environments
